At MacMillan Custom Framing we approach each project with two thoughts. First is
that we want to create a unique design which will display your artwork the very best
way possible. At the same time, we focus on preservation. All materials are chosen
to meet the industry's highest standards. Each unique piece of artwork or
memorabilia requires a different method of attachment. The very best materials, if
used incorrectly, could cause damage to your artwork.
Over the last 25 years Meghan MacMillan, MCPF has taken advantage of every
opportunity available for framing education, including regular recertification through
the Professional Picture Framers' Association. The design process includes
recommendations for materials and attachment methods.
We use TruVue brand UV filtering glazing exclusively.
The form and character of the frame are governed by the laws of aesthetics and of human sensation. The intention must be to engender a sense of harmony and to concentrate the beholder’s attention on the painting. A frame constructed in accordance with a proper understanding of art and science will enliven the painting’s colors, detach them from their surroundings and unite them into a harmonious and effective whole.
